INTERAMERICAN is supporting the ActionAid “Child Sponsorship” Programme by sponsoring 39 children, thus joining the effort mounted by the NGO to combat poverty, hunger and social disparity in developing countries.
The ActionAid Programme focuses on improving living conditions for children in the poorest regions of the planet, trying to secure their access to dignified living conditions, food, drinkable water and education through the creation of basic infrastructure.

The children’s sponsorship files were delivered by Mr. Gerassimos Kouvaras, General Director of ActionAid Greece, to executives of INTERAMERICAN during an event held at Company headquarters. Mr. Kouvaras stated: “The support provided by INTERAMERICAN to communities in 14 countries through the ActionAid “Child Sponsorship” Programme is not a display of seasonal sensitivity, but a proof of true dedication to the lives of children, families and communities that can hope for a better future”.

INTERAMERICAN undertook the initiative of child sponsorship within the framework of the “Acts of Life” Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.
The Company chose this action to stress its great interest in children, which is expressed through a series of steady partnerships in support of agencies that play within society a vital role in favour of children, both globally and in our country.

ActionAid is active in more than 40 countries at local level and has been an advisor to the UN since 1991, lobbying international decision-making centres with a view to achieving the revision of decisions and practices that hinder the development of poor countries.
