INTERAMERICAN offers its Medisystem Network primary health services in Tripolis and Sparta
Tuesday 6 April 2010

INTERAMERICAN is enhancing its insurance presence and developing the health sector services it provides in Peloponnesus by expanding its Medisystem network to include Tripolis and Sparta, where the company also operates Sales Offices. Specifically, the company signed a cooperation agreement with 6 physicians and 2 diagnostic centres in Sparta, as well as 7 physicians and 2 diagnostic centres in Tripolis, aiming at covering the local primary health service needs of its policyholders through the Medisystem programme.

It should be noted that Medisystem, the innovative health system operated by INTERAMERICAN, has entered its twelfth year of operation, providing policyholders with a comprehensive spectrum of health services, from consultation and diagnosis to hospitalization. New Medisystem programmes are characterized by reasonable cost (20% - 40% cheaper premiums, as compared to older programmes) and improved provisions. “We are addressing a broader population, while adhering to the company’s dogma, i.e. that everyone has the right to health; we stand apart from our competitors by providing a comprehensive system of services that covers the entire spectrum of healthcare needs and is not merely an insurance product”, stresses Mr. G. Veliotis, the company’s General Director of Health.

In the health sector, INTERAMERICAN achieved written premiums worth 114 million Euros in 2009 (as compared to 113 million in 2008) and presented a very good combined ratio of 82%, a result of the successful management of the sector and cost controls. The company has introduced the innovation of direct payments for surgeons of the Medisystem network, enabling policyholders to not involve themselves with transaction processes and promoting two annually renewable programmes.
